Cool window and OUR HERNA!

Herna Maximilián

Moose:

Gambrinus 10:

Beer - cold, clean, crisp taste – like drinking from a beer glacier

- average foam ring retention

Beer mats – soggy

Entertainment – interesting mix – top 40 audio, 60s – present video

Bar - is quite full, but not overcrowded

- open past 10pm in Palmovka – this is considered late

Pilsner 12' – not as good, aftertaste not a glacier beer, still a good beer, there is no disputing that – but I'd rather have the 10'

Camel:

Gambrinus 10: Beer is delicious. I really like it. Not to mention that this herna is probably my favorite! Wow! Would you believe that? What a strong statement! If we take into account the amount of hernas in Palmovka. But this one has a cool window in which you can sit. They also have a cool TV and they're showing VH1, however playing J Lo. On VH1 there's boogy night. So cool! Well, I definitely have to explore the handwriting issue thing!

Pilsner 12: However 12 isn't that good.

I like those repeating habits in Palmovka. Like that Lady's room is always locked and you have to ask for a key at the bar ...

Bizon:

Pilsner 12 :

- served quickly, very nice

- herna is full (lotsa peaople), music is OK (crappy, but the volume level is OK)

- beer itself has a very strong "beer" taste & smell, temperature is optimal, overall for Pilsner 12 only slight under average (you can drink better Pilsner 12 wherever)

- gives some beer rings on glass

- taste is good on tongue, but gets bitter later down the throat (in the second beer mild taste of pears and apples (?!) wtf? )

- foam disappeared fairly quickly

- second beer was tapped over "measure": plus for them, also the temperature is optimal and little bubbles

- minus for music not the same as on their TV

- herna itself is quite good, you do not see the slot machines and the toilets are also tolerable (later bad smell out of toilettes in the bar!! fuuu! minus, minus, minus ...)

- overall: 4/10

Herna Novakovych 7

Budweiser 10' (22,-)

Bizon

- beer great, very good taste, optimal temperature, tasty (sweet?) foam, that stays long

- mild taste of hops and malt – very good

- no bubbles,

- however the beer itself is a little bit waterish (normal for Budweiser 10', I guess)

- gives thick ring on glass

- music – radio – not loud

- staff – OK, quick beer

- overall: 9/10 !! very good, one of the best beers I have had recently

Camel

Our herna. I never thought I'd go here. But we're getting lower and lower. At least there is nobody except us. Thank God! However, the beer's fine. There is a beep every 12 seconds – according to Moose. A nice way how to get into a mad-house. The waitress knows us 'cuz we've been buying cigarettes here every day. OMG! I feel insecure!

Moose

Beer – minimum bubbles, decent foam, excellent taste

Bar is quite small – reminiscent of someone's basement – though with the blinking and beeping of three monster gambling machines. Bartender must have easiest, most mind-numbingly boring job on the block particularly, if she routinely works this late night shift. Sit behind the bar, pull a few beers for the random few that show up (that'd be us) and then sit back behind the bar for another couple of hours. No wonder the "non-stop" is closed half the night. (Bartender seems nice, though)

कोन्च्लुसिओं

Last evening started pretty much the same as the night before – a movie plus beers in local hernas (in the name of Science and better fate of Mankind). However, there are several events that need to be pointed out. Well, after certain time that we have spent in Palmovka, last night we found the courage to actually go to OUR HERNA! Our herna is a herna neightbouring with our house. We go there quite often in sweatpants and slippers when we run out of cigarettes, but I never thought that we end up there one sweet day. Weasel is going to be sooo proud of us. The herna is very small, like Moose commented; it looks like someone's basement. As to our beer-commenting skills, Bizon seem to "rule them all" – he doesn't change the topic and is slowly turning into a beer-taster par excellence. Moose tried hard yesterday, but I am afraid that the pressure on him to take the blog seriously was too big, because he crossed out 50% of his work. And Camel, what about the handwriting thing again??
